However, as you mentioned in your post dyno numbers and not track numbers which tell a better story and more accurate info on the set-up.
Ya, it might be possible, I was just going off of what his post said, it said less than 10psi and no mention of meth, so that's why I thought it wasn't possible.

With meth, 10psi, a trickle of race gas, lots of timing, and keeping the intercooler cold, i think 500hp is possible, but just by slapping the turbo system on and running less than 10psi, that's a tuff one.

The truck's initial power is on the high side from what I typically see. At least we can go off the gain after the turbo.

later,
allen

With other kits, we see about 120-150hp over stock on 5-7psi. Let's say a stock 5.3L puts down 230rwhp, another 100 then it's 330hp (hey i can add, lol), then 150hp, it's 380hp, which is damn good.
You're still 100+hp short with only 3-4psi more.
The LS1's, LS2's can hit this, but not the 5.3L. The most I've seen from a front mount turbo on a stock truck with about 7 psi, with a good tune that is able to be street driven is about 415hp, still quite a bit short from 500rwhp.
You may be able to get this with some dyno tricks, like keeping the intercooler cold, running race gas and lots of timing, but in street form/tune, I anticipate it won't put 500rwhp.
BUT, prove me wrong, I'd love to see a kit out there that will put 500rwhp just from a turbo or two, and fuel upgrades.

Of course, some dyno's read different, so I guess it's possible, but the real test will be the MPH at the dragstrip.

keep us posted,
allen
Never dynoed the sts kit on the stock 5.3. According to weight and trap speed the engine put down in the 490 range to the wheels. Stock 5.3 with asm lt headers, t67 @ 8psi, no I/C 93 octane and meth. Race weight 4600 lbs. Trap speed 110.87 mph.

I don't know why people have a problem with the idea of an electric pump returning oil to the motor. STS has have very little problem's with theirs. I think I've heard of maybe 3 failures, and the last time I talked to them (which was a LONG time ago) they said they had over a 1000 kits out there. If there was a oil pump failure problem, I'm SURE that's ALL you would here about them on these boards. I know mine has at least 40k on it and the only problem I had is when it got below 0* the oil was to thick when I first started the truck for it to pump in low speed and it would blow the fuse. So I just put a switch on it to run on high speed all the time when it was cold and problem solved. Think about it ALL of you truck depend on an ELECTRIC fuel pump to supply 58 psi of fuel to the motor. How often do they fail?

Enough that I have changed 2 out on the side of the road, and now have a cutout access panel under my back seat and carry a spare pump with me in the truck.

Just saw this post. Dont worry Rotary the pumps we use are a vane style pump rated to thousands of hours continuous operation, and should the need ever arise they are fully rebuildable. Expect zero failures with these

Work on the GM Truck Gen-TT Intercooled Twin Turbo system is progressing well at the moment, just patterning the production pipes at the moment, and final installation for tuning will begin tomorrow
Thats when all the fun stuff happens

I like the location of the turbos to keep the extra heat out of the engine. On a 4wd what happens when you do stream crossings or hit some deep water?
