When my Radix fuel pump started squealing just like that, the in-tank fuel pump was dying. You can test this by un-installing the inline pump, then test fuel pressure of just the stock pump. Look for 60 psi or more at idle. I would say that no matter what, a new fuel filter is in order.

Ok guys, so I bought a fuel pressure kit from Kragen yesterday. Got home from work and went to work. First checked for fuel pressure with everything normally connected. Results:

2 Pumps: 48PSI with both Key in the ON position and truck running.

I then removed my external in line pump, and the truck would not turn on at all. Tried checking for fuel pressure with the key in the ON position and I got 0PSI. So I assume internal pump is gone? I couldn't hear it kick in what so ever, when I had the key in the on position.

I went over my Radix manual and the way I did this sound correct?

I removed the fuel line from the end of the external pump facing the front of the truck.

That line was connected to the end of the fuel filter (which I also changed) that was also closest to the front of the truck.

I cant say for sure about the way you bypassed the inline pump, but assuming you did do it correct, I would recommend these steps next...

with the fuel pressure gauge hooked up, turn the key to the "key ON/Engine OFF" position, wait 15 sec turn key back off, then repeat about three times. The idea is to run the factory pump enough to fill the lines back up and possibility make pressure.

If you still see 0 psi, check the Fuse under the hood as well as the fuel pump relay.

The last step would be to verify power and GROUND, the best place to check is at the connection on the tank. You will need another set of hands to test this, because with the engine off, the fuel pump circuit will only be powered for a few seconds...

Thank You I ended up having my neighbor help me. He turned the key while I was under the truck and you can hear the fuel pump activate. Still getting 0PSI. So I borrowed his relay from his Silverado. Tried it again, and same thing occurred. I couldn't find another fuse that was fuel related. Only saw a couple of ignition ones. I will check power and ground next, as soon as I find my tester and my dad can make it down. Also did the on/off procedure you first told me to check with no luck.

Assuming this is a fuel pump problem. What would be a recommendation on a nice fuel pump? Truck is a 2000, if anyone has a part number would appreciate it.

If you can hear the pump operate, it is not a electrical problem. The fact you have 0 PSI makes me think you might not have the inline bypassed or the gauge fully installed.

Recheck your connections, if all is good The pump is gone, but I would want to verify the testing conditions..

I went ahead and verified the connection. I removed the gauge and no gas spilled like it did before when I had both pumps connected. Reconnected everything and still 0PSI. Here is a diagram I made on how everything was connected before I removed anything and then after I removed the inline pump.

99-02 Radix Install Guide

If you look at page 43, you can see how everything was suppose to be done.

Thanks again for you help really appreciate it.

I don't want to sound like I am hijacking your post, but I am having the exact same problem, only my truck is an '05. I have a boost-a-pump with the factory pump and an STS kit and started having trouble. I just replaced my factory pump with a Magnacharger pump kit (Walbro 255) and I still have 0 psi at the engine. When I turn the key on I get 12 volts at the pump then it bleeds off, which I am assuming is normal. The fuse box has a fuel priming terminal which is very small and you can actually take a wire and apply 12volts directly to it and run the pump and I still get 0 psi. I am about to go nuts!!!! You might have the same problem I have. If we lived close enough I would let you try one of my pumps. I really could use some help because I don't know where else to look. Thanks...

Well the factory one will work, but do you have any modding plans in the near future?

The bleed off is normal, So you are getting power, what about ground? can you hear the pump run?
