fuel filters with big power
#1
I'm sticking this in the forced induction section because most guys running big power have some kind of forced induction. My question is this: At what point does the stock fuel filter become a restriction in the fuel system? When should an aftermarket fuel filter be considered and how many microns should the filter be?

So you're running a stock intank pump, and a magnafuel inline? Did you run bigger lines as well? I have a Bosch 044 intank, and was thinking it might benefit the pump not to be pushing through a stock filter. Just trying to see what others were doing.

I think teh stock filter is fine, along with fuel lines, well into the 900 hp range.. Only facts i have, is that parish was making 1000hp to the wheels, was all on stock fuel stuff( other then pumps)

I've heard that too. Ever since Russ and I pullied down, we are running a little leaner than we want to be for the last 400ish rpm's. We were just finding it hard to believe that we maxed the pump out. Just trying to get ideas.

Just curious how much suction the 4301 actually has.
My buddy with a 4301 has a bulkhead on the bottom rear of his tank that then feeds his pump.

Something to consider is the amount of meth used to compensate for the fuel system.

bulkhead, then a hose barb with a 1-2inch piece of heater hose stubbe into tank.
My bulkhead is thru the stock sender assemble and the 4301 is mounted on the driverside frame rail right in from of the stock tank
