Default Front cover oil return pics???

Does anyone have any pictures or experience with running the turbo oil return line to the front cover? I saw one awhile back but can't find it. I don't want to tap my pan and take a chance of getting shavings inside. Thanks in advance

i was worried too, but if you look right under the timing cover, on the pass side, if you tap the very front of the pan all the shaving fall on the "ledge" of the pan and when your done you just take your finger and wipe them all out. I was able to take a flashlight and see inside the pan and i got all of the shavings out.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to get to that part of the pan on a 4wd... will definitely keep that in mind though that's a good idea about using the ledge to catch the shavings. Did you grease your bit and tap to catch some of the shavings?

I did the same thing drilled a 3/4" hole and tapped pipe threads into it with lots of grease and wiped the shavings out with my finger. VERY easy to do. just take out the plastic skid plate and you have direct access.

ya, i used a 1/2" pipe thread to 5/8" hose barb, with it being pipe thread its tapered, so i didnt even tap the hole, i just cranked it in and let it cut its own threads, then used JB weld to seal it up

Nice, thanks for the pic man I'll probably go that route instead now after seeing it on a 4x4. How do you like your TR220 on boost? What lsa? What turbo setup are you running? I have been thinking about trying to pick one up cheap on 114*lsa to go with my front mount. I know it's not ideal, but I'm not spending the cash on a nice cam until I go 6.0

IM gunna run my oil return to the oil filler neck on my truck. I just ordered all of the oil too and return lines from the turbo from jegs. Iv seen it done before and seems to be the easiest thing to do to get the oil back into the engine without tapping into anything or worrying about metal shavings. Im gunna use a AN bulkhead fitting and AN nut to fit it in the filler neck.
