I'd be curious to see what you could do with a forged 4.8 as well, did you run an engine diaper on the track in case you had a catastrophic failure?

A sad day for that 4.8. At least the rest of the truck wasn't hurt. I'll be waiting for it's 1000HP return

There's no forged rods out there for 4.8s unless you buy a custom set.

5speed, truck had 111k, 41k of those boosted and well above 500 wheel HP.

TDF, a engine diaper was actually in my summit shopping cart but would not have been here in time for the track. Who knows, maybe everything happens for a reason.

Apparently 6.3" SBC rods work. Probably some decent machine work required, but not entirely custom. Here's a video of a destroked 6.0 using them:

Lil 4.8 took a helluv a ride, but even though you knew it was coming it is a ruffly cheap fix to get ya motoring again. Like a 400$ fix I will be anxious to see what you do next. Hell a forgd 4.8 would get you your 9 sec goals, but need to use a diff rod.

im pretty sure there are rods that are close in length if not the right size. iirc lunati has a 6.300 set. piston mfg will move the pin on a custom set. i was looking at all this stuff not to long ago.
