Default FMIC is on.

I'll get some pictures soon. Part throttle EGT's are roughly 75 to 100 degree's cooler. In some instances, I see as much as 200 degree's cooler EGT's when maintaining a steady speed. When I let off the gas, EGTs drop MUCH quicker. When I pull up to a stop light, it drops to 900 pretty quickly. Used to only drop to 1000 at a LONG light.

For those that have followed my boost drop questions, if you thought my boost drop was bad before, it's really bad now. 3rd gear spikes to low 7psi (spiked to 8.x before) and will drop very quickly to 5psi as I go through the gear. 1st and 2nd gear see about a 1psi quicker boost drop going through the gear too. I've got my boost reference coming from engine vacuum so I shouldn't even see any drop.

I had my windows up and radio off and rode in 3rd gear to try and listen for any air leaks. The only thing I can hear is the BOV. I would think it would take a really big leak to drop boost this bad. Is there any possible way I've got a "challenged turbo"? Can a turbo be bad to where it just plain has trouble holding boost?

I cranked up my EBC another turn. 2nd gear spikes to about 7 and drops to about 4.x through the gear and then when 3rd comes on, it's like a nitrous hit. Boost goes to 8.8 psi and from 4 to almost 9psi boy does it come alive.

I'm going to be putting a GT67 on in the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping that will maintain boost better in my truck config.

Im glad you got the intercooler installed. Its sounds like the intercooler is doing its job. I hope you get the boost problem fixed I douht its anything big. I working on my NEW turbo manifolds. The old manifolds where not built good enough. To much heat and to much weight.

I think your turbo's out of range*. Sounds like the engine is using more air than the turbo can keep spun up.

* based on the assumption that you have no boost leaks.

I'll be getting a GT67 put on in the near future. I sure hope that helps the boost issue. I still wonder if the .96 a/r is causing an issue. My truck has a 3" factory exhaust pipe but the STS kit drops the exhaust pipe down to like 2 1/2" (maybe even 2 1/4) prior to getting to the turbo. I wonder about that as well. I can see that adding more pressure for low end power but I see it as a restriction in the upper rpms which is where my drops always occur.

My wife went out of town this weekend for a funeral and took the digital camera due to family from all over being together. I'll get some pics when she gets back. I do have pics on the 35mm SLR but those will have to be developed. I hope to get some digital pics this afternoon when she's home.

The left side needs to be raised up a little. Simple thing to fix but here is what I have so far:
