fixing my fuel pressure issues FOR GOOD!
#31
I also have the 255lph in-line pump. My Magnavolt (older version) is wired to that. At 3psi the hobbs switch activates the voltage booster (Magnavolt/Kenne Bell BAP). I hooked up a multimeter to the 12v/ground leads on the magnavolt and ran them into the truck. Then I went for a spin to make sure at 3psi the voltage did indeed increase. Have you done something like that to ensure the Magnavolt is coming on?
Of course a new FPR would be an easy fix, maybe you'll get lucky and thats all it is.

If you unplug the fpr the fuel isn't being "bypassed" anymore, it's all going to the rail, that's why you will see the pressure increase. All of your numbers sound to be off by 3psi or so.
I out fo curiousity did mine yesterday as well after talkin to ya. I put my results in red in your quote below.
For comparison purposes, if my setup is working the way the fueling system is supposed to, I'd take a guess at your stocker isn't doing what it should.

BINGO! thats my guess too. seeing that we have the EXACT same fuel systems, why would your pressure be so much better than mine?

My in-line pump helped a little but when I put the voltage booster on there my FP was rock solid at 62psi all the way up to 6400rpm @ 130mph (on the dyno of course) I think I would double check that it was hooked up right and working before I dig too much further. Could have had a bad ground, defective unit etc..and not know it.

UPDATE: i've ordered a new in-tank OEM fuel pump, a new 255lph walbro in-line pump, OEM FPR, and OEM fuel filter. I'm gonna change it all out on tuesday next week. we'll see what happens from there.

Good deal Holty...I still have a sneaking suspicion that its your OEM fuel pump going bad or just faulty. I may be wrong...but its just my thought.

yes, but it saves a lot of headaches, and he said as soon as you get a chance you can just shoot him over the cash via Paypal.
