Default First shot at dyno

Was a wash, my tuner added more fuel and pulled more timing, but the damn thing still studders even at low rpm with no boost. Then we threw about two pounds at it and it pops. There should be more than enough fuel there. I think Ill pull plugs tomorrow to see what is really going on. Maybe I have some bad plugs or something. I did see clear water coming from my catch can. Oil and antifreeze are good, so it must be condensation or something. What kind of fuel pressure should I have just cruising around? Then how much at wot? Any other ideas guys would be helpful.

What do you meam by "It popped"?

I think most guys see 55 at idle and around 62 at WOT. I see about 42 at idle and 60 at WOT. (Mines a flex fuel system so it's a little screwy)

Adding fuel and pulling timing should not have caused engine failure just shitty performance if he took it too far.
Where you running lean on the tune you had been driving on? What were the original issues?

I havent been driving it at all. He tuned it for the 44#ers. He also took out timing for the boost. We havent got it over 4000 rpms yet due to a miss or studder so I lift right away so it doesnt hurt anything. I now have to find something probably mechanically wrong due to thetune looking like it suppose to. No engine failure, just trying to get it to run right. We havent hurt anything yet. It idles and drives good.

If youve got a miss Id be looking at electrical first ensure the plug wires dont have any insulation burnt or rubbed off, measure em with an ohm meter for breaks. When you pull the plugs if you notice one in particular looks bad just replace it. If you can get your tuner to log the misfires. Next is the coils and there are ways to test them, you can pull a plug and ground it while cranking the motor over you will notice if the spark looks yellow or weak do this after swappin plugs. Dont run the motor without a plug in though, you cna cut the fuel to ensure this!!

Regap plugs smaller for boost, if youve got an excessive rich condition that can cause problems too.

Might think about comp. test.

hope this helps

TR6s gapped at .032 I believe. Ill recheck them tomorrow. I think when I bought them they may have been sitting for a while, which shouldnt have been a problem. Maybe I just got a bad one. I have msd wires and I checked them to make sure they were tight so Im thinking a plug is bad hopefully. I think the last torque number I saw was at 3800 rpms and was 369 at part throttle. We never got a full run. If we did get a full run with boost then I prolly would opt for a comp test but I havent put any boost to it yet.

Ive had problems with MSD wires and Missfires... Runs like crap. Went and got some cheapo wires and been runnin fine ever since!

I put a ohm meter on all the wires and they tested good, put them back on and problem still there, put the cheap wires on and all was fine.

bent the MSD wires all around with the ohm meter hooked to it, finally found the one what was screwy.. Never got around to puttin them back on.. was goin to send them back to MSD but never did.

yea check your plus you might be having spark blow out cuz they r to hot or the gap. also if it studders alot you might be running to much fuel and gettin to rich. does your tunner hook up a wideband????

Yeah we had a wideband on it last night and as we were rolling into it the a/f was steady dropping, at 3800 rpms, part throttle it was down to 12 to 1.

I found it......... pulled the plugs out today and checked gap. They were at .035 so I moved them down to .028 to .030. Fricken thing scares the hell out of me now. It runs up to 7 psi no problems. Well time to go back to dyno, this time for real.
