Default Finally gathering parts for my 5.3l Turbo build

Hey guys I have a 2002 silverado RCSB.

I ordered a trick performance hot side manifold kit with down pipe, and i bought a Turbonetics TC76 turbo off a fellow member here. which i believe is a s 68/76 turbo.

Here is what I'm thinking as the rest of my build here.
ls6 cam
Trick performance intercooler kit
38mm waste gate
yellow valve springs
60lb injectors
340lph fuel pump

I'm planning on somewhat daily driving the truck and i plan on running 12 psi of boost on 91 octane with no water meth.

Is this doable and reliable?

I also have a set of stock 243 heads off my gto that I was thinking about throwing on the 5.3l block because I heard it will lower the compression? Would this be a good idea to do with a set of ls9 gaskets and head studs?

keep the stock heads on there and get yourself some headstuds and ls9 head gaskets, and and rod bolts and gap your piston rings...

For that, you don't need to do anything to the motor.

Good fuel and good tune are 100x more important than rod bolts and 243 heads.

I would also save the time and money on the LS6 cam and springs and put that into something else, or a better cam and springs in general.

Bingo.

I would also look into Tricks upgraded RACE intercooler. Its huge and will cool the air much better than his reg model.

you dont need to swap rod bolts unless you want to or plan to spin some RPM, ive always swapped rod bolts but one recent motor i left the stockers in and its been holding up fine so far

as for the 243s they will drop the CR to about 9.0 on the 5.3, i had this setup a few years back...is it needed? no will it help? yes

Ls9 gaskets will work for ya, Head studs for sure

you can run 12psi on 91 octane just need to have a tuner realize its 91 and gives ya a safe tune. dropping the CR with the 243s will also give you a larger safety margin for 91octane

also if the heads are from a ls2 GTO then the springs should be yellow already
