FI+built 4l65. Experiences?

Just go 80E.
By now, I think I have the worlds most expensive 65E. Now that I'm done upgrading to ALL of the billet internals, the 3-4 clutches only live about 8-9 months before they are worn out.

. I've had a "built" '65 from a local outfit and one from a board sponson. One was on a turbo'd 5.3L and one on a Maggified 6.0L. Both well under 500rwhp. Neither lasted very long. Went with the '80 conversion on both and have been happy. The '65's can live in lighter vehicles with some pretty good power. Problem is our trucks are so damn heavy. AND.....some of them actually work for a living. Towing etc.

So pretty much i should be smart and just go 4l80 before I spend ANY money on my 4l65? I'm down haha, my buddy was trying to talk me into a t56 swap but after looking at that a 4l80 swap seems easy!

we have a local guy that builds 4l60e that hold 600rwhp all day, its all on the setup, the best parts will fail if not setup correctly. this guys builds them right. he build my power glide that holds 1800hp and also the 4l60e in my turbo yukon, this yukon has 23inch rims, tows 7500lbs all the time, never misses a beat and the turbo is on 12psi.

i think someone just posted a dyno comparison of a 4l60e and 4l80e. Wasnt hardly any difference in loss of power switching to the 80. When my first 60e took a dump, i went 80e and haven't regretted it. Spent 400 on junk yard trans and another 150 on shift kit plus a bad *** FTI built converter.
