Default FI+built 4l65. Experiences?

I know I know I should just skip the trouble and go 4l80. Truth Is I'm too damn lazy to do it . I have an lq9 with an old mans cam and will be procharged soon, but I've been having naughty turbo thoughts lately hah. I won't go past 600rwhp. So what are your experiences with b00st and the dreaded 4l60?

Enough said... I keep breaking hard parts behind my LQ9 and it's NA! Just put a hardened input and output shaft in it along with 5 pinion front and rear planetaries! Torque management is your friend! =)

A junk yard 100K mile 4L80 with TransGo HD2 shift kit will out last a newly "built" 4L65. Only down sides are that it won't dyno as well (if you're a numbers guy) and it won't mpg as well.

I dunno about that, mine gets great gas mileage.
And if you you just want dyno numbers, this isnt your game. Every dyno reads different.

A heavier tranny takes more power to turn. Plain and simple. You can put an Allison behind your motor and it would never break. Mileage wouldn't be as good. For the same reasons, a heavier tranny won't transfer as much power to a dyno's rollers. Not for a moment saying your setup doesn't make great power and get great fuel eco numbers. However, they would be better with a lighter tranny. Plus I do believe the O/D ratio in the 60/65 is more conducive to MPG than the 80
