I did all my stuff in my sig for less than $13000 and I must say, it hauls ***. Don't underestimate the 5.3 with boost. If I could do one more thing I'd get a set of ported heads on there.
So far, I've been abusing the hell out of my 60e and G80 for over a month on the street and all is well. Hey, did I just jinx myself?

they do make pistons and rods for the 5.3. hell they even make a 5.3 stroker kit. 4" crank and 3.8** bore. makes like a 370 iirc. you would have good low end torque and should retain some mileage vise a gas sucking 408. with stock heads it yeilds like 10.4:1 compression. that with a tc78 turbo and your in the money for a 600rwhp 10psi motor. the stroker kit is only $2000 balanced, with all you need to do it minus gaskets. if your motor is in good shape it would just need a hone job for like $100.
