With 13k to blow, no forced induction is good for a 5.3. Invest in a bigger motor there, chief.

You could probably find a turn-key 408 for about 7-8k. Maybe a little more. Still leaves room for a big *** turbo kit too.

Let me add that you'd obviously need other supporting mods in the vehicle, seeing as I have no idea what you already have to work with.

Are you looking to run 9s in this thing or just have a fun truck to drive?

I believe I saw in another thread that you didn't want to get into the bottom end of the 5.3... You will not run a 9 with a stock bottom end, and it would be damn near impossible to do a 10 with one as well. Figure out exactly what you want to do first. It sounds cool to be able to run a 10, but it takes more than a gas-sipping engine to do it. Few 9 or 10 second trucks are still streetable, let alone get good gas mileage.

Good thing Quik is gone, this thread would be on fire if he read that last bit. haha
