hello everyone, I was wondering what cams, turbos and converter stall I would need to run to get a fast spooling turbo, it doesn't have to make max boost at 2k rpm but I dont want to be getting the boost starting a 5500 and max boost a 6k anyone have any ideas?

 

Just pick a smaller turbo and it will spool super quick on a V8.

Like a 70-76mm turbo would be ideal, that's what a lot of turbo kits offer for entry level turbos. Even on a stock cam you are going to make whatever boost you are set for well before 5,000rpm.

If you pick a small camshaft over stock, a stock or close to stock stall in that 2000rpm range is all you will need.

You need to tell us what your budget is and how much power you want to make.

What do you think you're going to do with 1k hp anyway?

You will need more than just a baby turbo for that

 

Takes a LOT of tire to hold 1000 Horsepower.
You'll need to consult transmission builder as well.
What are your FUEL choices ?
Are you planning to run daily on pump gasoline, or is this a weekend/ track toy ?

BIG difference between a 9 second DYNO run up to 1000 and an actual operable AUTOMOBILE that can lay down that kind of horsepower.

 

Like FFDP said, something like a 7675 would be a happy middle ground for everything you think you want

Supercharger would be a better fit for your request. Instant boost and there are several options for 1000+ rwhp.
