Exhaust questions for turbo build
#1
Ok Im working on my project and I just have a few questions about exhaust piping, maifolds, flow and so on. My plan is to run a log type manifold but my concerns are if it will flow OUT and into the turbo. My idea is on my V8 is to get some header flanges, take 2" primaries and go up with the front 3 of them into a 3" pipe, the last exhaust port towards the back of the engine will feed into the back side of the 3" pipe. The 3" pipe will then 90* to the front of the engine then each side will meet in the middle and Y into my turbo Flange. So will this be a good method for running my pipes or will I encounter a flow issue? This truck Is a daily driver so I want to be able to drive at low boost levels and No boost at times as well, so I set it up with a 3:55 rear end and am using a Large frame Garrett GT4708 80mm with T6 1.32 AR I may change my AR to a .96 Only reason for hte 1.32 is it came with it. Now this turbo weighs about 50lbs will my manifolds be suitable to hold such a unit or should I encorporate a mounting system, my header flanges have 8 bolts and are 3/8th thick steel

Kyle's kits are made out of schedule 40...I'd like to see a turbo break that lol. What do you mean you are concerned about flow problems? Where else would the exhaust gas go besides the turbo?
