Makes sense. The motor will see the same boost level but becomes more efficient hence it is moving more air at a given amount of boost and becomes lean.

I believe that the saying goes "I see said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw"...get it, the blind man saw, as in with his eyes, but he's blind, but we're talking about a tool, not actually seeing...

Ok, I get it now

I didn't realize when you go WOT that the computer goes into an open loop, which is where the "in person" tuning is needed

I think I'm going to leave the cut out closed... sucks it's kind sketchy to use it lol I wish I would have known this before I installed it

thanks for clearing everything up guys

I would have to imagine its better to tune for it open and run it closed then the other way around. Like tuning for 10psi and only running 8psi.

Dont wana hijack the thread, but im in the same boat, only difference is that im SD tuned. Would it matter if truck is tuned with the cutout closed and I open it at the track? Running a stock 2500hd exhaust.

So basically if your S/C or Tutbo'd a cut out is pointless unless you wanna retune every time?

That's when a shift on the fly tuning would come it quite handy 

No, if you wanna run a cut-out make sure it is tuned for it open.

No, just tune it with the cutout open, and it will run richer when its closed.
