Elec. Boost Control HELP!!!!
#1
Ok, i have been working on the turbo all weekend and now i have to hook up the boost control. It is an apexi avc-r boost control. The instructions suck so i am just having to figure it out. It has a pressure sensor and a soleniod boost control. I have an STS turbo.
Let me know how this sounds.
I am going to tap in to the manifold for a pressure reading on the back pass. side. Run a hose from there to the pressure sensor. I am going to "T" off of that so that i can run a hose to my mech. boost gauge and also a line to the top of the BOV, Is that how it should be hooked up, not real sure what line runs to the BOV.
On the back where the turbo is, i am going to "T" the line that runs from the bottom of the wastegate to the cold side. Run the line to the solenoid and then run a line back to the top of the waste gate.
Any and all help will be great
, this is my first time installing this stuff.

I have a Boost Valve. It is the first hit on google, if you put in Boost Valve. Go to the /tech.html page and you will see full installation instructions with pictures. You have an electronic version from another company, but the basics will be the same. I like the idea of using the manifold pressure for controlling the electronics. The rest of the setup will be the same as the manual system. You are basically tricking the wastegate into staying closed until you want it to open. The valve restricts the amount of pressure the wastegate sees until you reach the desired boost level.
