Rob we tested two trucks one with a 4 lb lower and one with a 6lb lower. Both showed less than stellar results. I plan on getting a few more in so we can have a conclusive test, but I think the results are going to be the same.

Maybe, maybe not. It was said earlier in the thread, each truck reponds different. Might I make a suggestion?

Tune it for a nonport and run the test.

Retune it for a port and run the same test.

I will say that just from watching the boards, the stage 4 port may not be sorted out yet. There's been quite a few complaints about it since it came out. They might be overporting the blower at this point, I don't know. When you're playing with airflow and preasures, it's a very tricky game.

Kinda my point in the earlier post.

The funny thing is the truck made more power with the stock blower and tune that it had for the "ported" blower.

Joebob450r's thread has been overtaken. I think a new thread should be started for the sole discussion of ported versus non ported blower.
Let joebob have his thread back

Another aspect of this I think folks are missing.

So you make 20 or so HP more above 5000 rpm....but at what cost? If you take a look at the graph you can see that there is 50rwtq and 25 rwhp lost below 4500 rpm.

I am currently working together with a few Lightning owners, we are going to test an Steig blower against a stock blower. We will provide you with both inlet and discharge temps, boost mapping, and the coveted load/ve information. I will keep all of you posted on the status and results.

These tests will be preformed on the same dyno, in the same day.
