Do "X" links go bad?

I doubt the X link went bad. Check the brown and yellow wires to see if there are any breaks inside. Pull on the wire a few inches before it goes into the X link. If you feel it stretching the insulation, there is a break in the wire. Have you done anything to the truck different? Like smaller supercharger pulley? Does it happen all the time, or only when the RPM's are higher? How long has it happened?

Does the problem happen as soon as you turn your key on? If so, plug in your 78mm(or borrow one) to see if it trips the code. If the code trips, it is a problem with your truck. If it doesn't trip from turning the key on, turn the key on and cycle the blade through its entire motion with the gas pedal key on engine off. If it only trips when running WOT it might be moving more air than the throttle body can handle. Keep us updated and we can give you more things to try.

Thanks guys. The problem has gone from maybe once a week to happening all the time. It's undrivable right now. I'll do some more trouble shooting tomorrow. I'll let y'all know what transpires. That X link and t'body have been on three different blowers in two different trucks on three different motors. I can see where a wire or connection could have gone bad. Hope it's that simple.....or better yet, hope it's simple to find

Thanks for chiming in Doc. We installed a three bolt t'body from a 4.8L and it worked fine....no codes. Hooked up the original LS2 t'body (silver blade) with X link and it threw 0120, 0220, 1516, and 2135. The X box doesn't have any writing on it. Square box with one mounting stud on the bottom and four small screws holding the back on. My son checked ohms through the X link wires and all show something except the purple wire.
