Do bigger turbos make more power?
Pound for pound does a larger turbo make more power keeping everything else the same?
00z71 and I have very similar builds and we are trying out a couple of turbos. We currently have a gt91 on each of our 408s and he is going to try out a thumper 98mm while I am going to try a garrett 85mm. The goal is to go faster so we will post how it goes after some testing.

Depends on the manufacturer, some turbos have smaller compressors but can flow what some of the big boys do. Its all about how much air the compressor can flow at your target boost level, and what volumetric efficiency its at. Don't forget proper exhaust housing sizing

a lot is going to do with the exhaust side for sure. how well it flows compared to the other. if the smaller of the two is choking off the exhaust then when the bigger one is installed the boost pressure will probably drop do to better exhaust side not making as much back pressure in the cyl. so when the boost gets back to where it was set, by increasing the controller then the bigger compressor is going to be more effeicient (sp) at the same boost level. because it is now going to be pushing a greater volume of air at the same psi.
make sense? i know its not very technical it wasn't ment be.
