Default displacement question

I have read numerous post on here about everybodies builds and the common argument whether to remain with the 4.8 or 6.0 swap? With there only being roughly 50+-hp and 65+-tq difference between the two in comparison years i dont see a major advantage of the 6.0. Could someone please enlighten me on the benefits I know old saying there is no replacement displacement which is hardly case when specs are not that far off.

Just depends how you want it to feel on the street. All else equal, the 4.8 will be capable of a bit more power when boosted, but won't feel anything like the 6.0 on the low end.

That also depends on the type of boost. With a blower its not quite the same as a turbo. You tend to hit boost limits with the smaller displacement and a blower. A turbo can be more flexible from that stand point.

Is this a turbo or a blower build?

the power outcome seems to vary greatly between people on here some claim 7-800 rwhp with just a turbo, cam upgrade while others with pretty much same setup are down around 450- 550. What's realistic gains say around 15+lbs of boost

whatever a single cab short bed weighs George

Oh i'm sure, but I bet he has more than just a turbo and a cam in his 4.8. I guess what i'm getting at is realistically what does it take to get a turbo 4.8 to 800hp where the rubber meets the road
