Default Dayco Belt tensioner

Has anyone broken one of dayco's belt tension'ers I was thinking of buying a backup.

i've broken 2 that come from maggie. What is theirs?

I personally haven't broken any ...yet. I was going to buy a back-up as you are thinking. MANY have snapped them in two.

PN# 89222 and the pulley is 89009 (Dayco)

I havent broken the tensioner yet, but I have snapped the lip off of the dayco pully and chunked the belt.

there is a goodyear tensioner spec'd for this application as well, might be stronger, although I haven't tried one yet

The Dayco definatly looks stronger than the magnacharger tensioner iwas lucky and did'nt have to buy a pulley cause Ihad the one of the other motor I'll tellya I think I will buy a back up aswell as a belt.

I have broken 2. I carry around a spare and tools to change it at all times. Both times were quick back pedal after breaking traction.

Yep that's how I broke mine by back peddaling here is a pic of the dayco.

Hmmm, I bought Dayco replacement. 3 of them and they all looked the same and not like your photo and they all looked like the original that came on my Magnacharger.

Yes, the 5 I bought and broke dont look like yours either. Dayco No Slack Part # 89222. You have to swap the pulley as well.

Autozone has a 1 year replacement on them/ I have gotten 2 under warranty
