You can tune it to where the tc stays locked in 4th and you will just lean on the throttle a little boost will build and you will accelerate.

you don't have to step on it that hard. If you tune it right you will stay locked in 4th and it will build boost and passing is a breeze (though it is not instant). I would imagine it builds boost with even less thorttle than my blower because I have to get to -2in vac to get the bypass to shut. If you are looking for instant throttle response, than a automatic gas truck isn't what you want. Aside from tuned diesels with aftermarket super tight converters, i haven't driven an gas powered automatic truck that has "good" throttle response.

I have a forged 347. with 9.5-1 cr. Throttle response is fine. Just a little extra gas and it accelerates pretty hard. I drive 30-35k per year in my truck, working out of it on a daily basis. I leave the boost at 7.5 psi for everyday driving. It is enough to hang with most anything on the road, even with 400-500 lbs of tools and materials in the bed, which is great for traction. The best thing is when you get to hills or mountains the truck never downshifts, it just builds a little boost and pulls just fine in OD.

Anything over 20 mph and throttle response is instant with my setup.

Same here. It takes 1/4 throttle and I'm at 5- 6 psi and it starts pulling hard.

Even my little 4.8L didnt downshift with the cruise set at 70ish for around 250 miles. which was a good thing when my tranny didnt have anything less than fourth gear. I could easily pass people and never let it get outtta fourth. It wasnt in boost necessarily but there is a big part throttle power difference.

That sounds really promising. I clearly remember my 4.8....you'd start up a hill on the highway @ 70 mph and get to the top at 60 mph unless it downshifted
Towing was a joke......thing would be screaming up to 5k rpms with the cruise control on!

Have you watched you tps when you get on it. I found what I thought was 1/4 throttle was much more. According to my tps I'm at 30-33% just to cruise @73mph. I find I don't get a good shove in the back until I get closer to 50%+ tps. Maybe the blower isn't the way to go to get power down low..... I really need to drive a trubo ls truck to see what its like at part throttle.

A good shove in the back as you approach 50% TPS sound perfect to me, why would you want a daily driver to get into boost earlier than that. That's what I love about FI, esp a Maggie, is that you would never no it's there until you lean into it a little, then wow. I love the driver friendly attitude it has putting around town and in traffic, very predictable and easy to drive when you need it to be. of course that's JMO.
