just get one of dirtrackracer's crank pulley tools to seat it...then using a cheater pipe, torque a new bolt until one of your nuts pop. works every time.

I recommend the ARP crank bolt (or the IW one if you have to use that one), and some red loctite.
Damn man, you've had some crazy ****. Didn't your truck also catch on fire? Think that was the reason I got a fire extinguisher in my truck.

Heh, yea, did that too after the ac hose ruptured and there was oil on the turbo blanket from the dipstick. Luckily it was off and I was standing beside it.

The bolt backed out I should say, but my crossover pipe goes in front so that caught the pulley and bolt. I managed to put it back on on the side of the road and drive it home. Or maybe I had a spare bolt with me, I cant remember exactly. The pulley got so hot from the crank rubbing on it I could install it by hand.

i'm not certain on the torque spec, but that's what is required for the crank bolt.

don't stop until it pop.

this method is only for a motor installed in a truck. I don't want anyone stripping threads out of an engine on a stand because they can get 3 people to jump up and down on a cheater.

realistically, I've probably never reached the "required" torque spec of a crank pulley. still no problems.
