Default Cooler air intake for ATI ProCharger?

Have a ATI ProCharger on 2000 Silverado 5.3L...
Placement of air intake is right behind supercharger, directly over driverside head and header...
Looking to reroute air intake for cooler air...

Anyone used or seen the Akimoto system used?

http://www.racingsportsakimoto.com/

Or,...any other ideas?

Thanks,

Al

you can build that yourself for alot cheaper. Thats exactly what I built for my vortech when I added the FMIC. Go to an auto parts store and get some 3" flexible intake piping (about $9) and clamp a K&N to the end.

Just watch your bends. The more bends you put in it the more restricted it becomes. I lost 300 rwhp with a 180 degree mandrel bent tube in front of a D1SC on a Camaro I had.

If you need a short radius pipe then call up Mike Dunn @ Mad Enterprise. He makes a custom intake duct for the ProCharged F-150's and it might work with your truck.

Yeah my setup would be a great base for yall to look at, sorry I'm to stupid to work a digital camara. But I can tell yall it made a huge difference on my truck, running a tube off the back of the Procharger and mounting a huge K&N in the stock loacation. Think if I remember right it was lil over 30 rwhp on dyno. Stock filter is to small that Procharger sends I was collapsin the filter under WOT. I'll try get pics up soon.

If you go to madenterprise.com, there is a link to pics of an install. He wants $235 for just the elbow though
In regards to the stock breather location, I have an AquaMist tank mounted there for meth/water injection.
I think that I need to route it forward and down near the intercooler, maybe splitting the ductwork - one each side...
what do you guys think?

Default My Procharger intake Mod

I don't post much, but lurk almost daily. Search my user name back about 6-12 months and you should find more detailed posts on my build. Here is what I did, wasn't cheap (about $300, $150 in parts and a 140 or so for chrome plating), but IMO was well worth it. Noticed no difference in performance if anything it was slightly better, but hard to tell if it was the intake or the injector swap and tune since I did them both at the same time. My main goal was to quiet the bypass hiss which it really did well. a couple other pics in my sig. Later, Jason
