Default Coolant for my intercooler?

My intercooler reservoir has the GM orange coolant in it. Should I have something better? What is water wetter? Where do I get it? How full should my reservoir be 3/4 full, or to the top? Want to make sure I'm not losing anything to heat.

I run Toyota brand antifreeze 50/50 with distilled water and a bottle of Water wetter should be available at Auto zone and stores like that and its pretty much full. Good luck.

And when I do go to change this coolant, how do I get the old stuff out? Just pull the hose off the intercooler and let it drain? Engine running or not?

I ran straight water wetter and distilled water, no coolant. I live in Cali where the temperature ranges only about 30 degrees. Seem to have good results.

I have purple Ice from royal purple in mine. Same difference as water wetter. You can get either one from Jeg's or Summit. You living in the panhandle I'd run straight water with the addative. It is 10x more efficient with the straight water. I recommend distilled water in all coolant systems due to the Aluminum radiators. If not used, the dissimilar metals (iron block, aluminum heads etc...) create a strong ionic charge and it slowly eats at the aluminum. Some radiator adative conditioners are neutralizers as well.

Bought some water wetter today and will pick up some distilled water tonight and hopefully drain the coolant and replace.
