what converters are you guys running with a turbo i have an 03 sierra with a 5.3 and a t4 t66 turbo and just got a smoking deal on a msuper street fighter 10 inch tci converter it is supposed to stall at about 3500 rpm i am just wondering how this will work in my ecsb oh and the truck puts a shade over 550 to the wheels.

Sell it and get something better quality... Those TCIs are known to fail. Can't go wrong with any of the site sponsors...

As for the turbo itself, might wanna look into something a hair bigger IMO depending on your goals.

And as for the initial question, I'm running a Circle D 3B (about a 3500ish stall speed) billet 258mm in my 4L80E.... Feels really good with the new setup...

like mod-o said, the TCI converters have a bad rap for high performance stuff. However, I had one on my previous setup before I upgraded and it worked fine. It was also on a 6xx rwhp Trans-Am and functioned fine also. I have a Yank now, PT3200 I believe. It is pretty tight for street driving, and very reliable. Circle D, Yank, Vigilante, and a few others seem to be the best choice for most people on here.

REALLY, problems with tci converters? i've used tci converters on alot higher power combo's than i currently have and have never had a problem.

If I'm not mistaken, the problems are primarily with the lockup side of the conveter. And efficiency.

i have a yank sc3200 and its sweet. real tight around town until boost hits then it stalls to 3200 like suppose to.

I run a Billet TCS out of Arizona not canada and I love this converter.

I think there's an argument for both sides of the problem. I too have seen them on higher hp cars running fine.

x2. Mine locked up fine when I had it, but that's what I've heard is their weak link.
