Finishing up a turbo 5.3 build and when I give the truck any gas it makes a chirping noise. I found a couple people discussing something similar on a Subaru forum, saying it was the wastegate. But I couldn't find anything on here. I plan on taking the exhaust off in a couple days to check for leaks, but if anyone has ever came accross this type of noise before please share your insight.

I had a deal like this on my 5.3 I ran a open wastegate though, and under acceleration I could hear a chirping noise from it. Wasn't really loud, but I could hear it... Almost like the WG was cracking open a little and shutting real fast, over and over. Normal driving it wouldn't do it, but as soon as I would get in the gas some, it would. I wouldn't worry about it.

 

Sounds like an exhaust leak.
Hard to tell.
