Chinese Turbo Kits
#1
alright. I have to ask.
HYPOTHETICALLY of course
Lets say I purchased one of these eBay Chinese Twin turbo kits.
New Small Block Chevy Twin Turbo Kit 22 Pcs 750HP SBC Chevrolet Camaro Trans Am | eBay
Now.. lets say I replace the turbos with reliable ones, replace the intercooler, replace the wastegate, bov.. what else would I have to replace to not destroy my truck?
Could I have a reliable turbo setup if I replace the dangerous pieces?
Also, what are the problems with these kits, other than the turbos blowing after a couple thousand miles...
Thank you!
Oh and Its a lm7 with a 4l60e that I plan on building before any of this...
just brainstorming on ideas thats all.

Wow, I've never seen that kit before. I can't imagine how crappy those parts must to bring the total down to $1,000. Amazing.
For starters, you'll have to scrap the maifolds also since that is for a Gen 1 small block and your LM7 is Gen3.
At that point, it looks like you're going to be replacing the entire kit... so yeah, go ahead and buy it, lol.

but I just want to make sure my block doesn't get harmed.. if i blow a turbo or some other part, i just want to make sure I keep harm away from the 5.3
I dont mind replacing turbo parts, i just dont want to blow my engine and have to swap something else into it.

like said above, you still would need different manifolds, upgraded turbos if those make you nervous, cold pipes would need modification, those do not look bead rolled, the intercooler is real small, the whole hot side in general would have to be fabbed, etc.... I would just say a hold out for a used quality kit built for your truck. You would be better off starting with the budget kit from CXracing for the ls1 camaro and fabbing than that kit.

If all you're going to use from the kit if the piping, it would be far cheaper to buy the piping you actually need and fab the kit yourself. Yes there are some other bits in that kit that might be useful, but it would be cheaper to build it from scratch getting just the parts you need.
