Default cheap turbo bulid

I want to go pull a turbo off a truck or car from the wreaking yard. Which one would you pull it from? Do I get one from a diesel engine or what? I have a 5.3 and I want to put it on and would it be able to go on a 6.0 as well. When I switch it someday.

Holset from cummins is too small. Unless it's coming off a larger cummins from a rig, not off a 5.9 from a dodge.

I would recommend using an on3 turbo before getting a horribly wrong turbo from a salvage yard

+1

The turbo is the cheap part of a turbo build.
