Well I been beating around the idea of how I'm going to get this extra power to go 9's and I decided to leave the bigger pill out of the plans for now. My thought is the shot is going to pick up more peak HP and more pressure on everything at one point. I'm thinking my best bet is to spread it out and make a little more over the whole curve.
My current cam lays flat around 6k and the tq goes with it, I been shifting at 6500.
I was told to shift this new cam at 6800-6900. Nick at speed inc said power should pick up 30+ and not hurt me any coming out at 3400-3500.
Another reason for this swap is i really don't like the idea of my stock timing chain with 105k on tryin to keep this thing in check.
Current cam:
204/218 int/exh
0.551" / 0.547" int/exh lift
117 LSA
New cam: Description
Speed Inc LS1/LS2 Custom Turbo grind TU1 225 225 .581 .581 113
Thoughts on this? Making a mistake or headed in the right direction?

Hmmm I'll be interested to see how it performs. You will definitely be able to shift higher than 6k but I don't think it will climb as high as 6900. Why such a tight lsa?
You will hit 9's with that cam though.

Im running the TU1 in my truck and I love it! Lopes great, makes great power out of boost and screams up top. I have my TH400 shifting at 6,000 only bc of the 60mm exhaust wheel on my turbo, but Im sure the cam would climb to 6,600 with no problem. You will love it Im sure

No reason really, I was/am still a little nervous with the tight lsa, but I think I got enough power down low to make the move to 225/225 cam. I have 2 step, transbrake, and nitrous to use to get it moving, my thought is this may make a stronger curve in the 5800-6800.
Also got a couple pm's out, I'll likely be switching to the nnbs/tbss intake and ported tb at the same time. The cam/intake should work well together.

Sounds like it should be a decent cam. Never hurts to get multiple ideas from different builders either. Place down south of me called VA speed supposed to be one of the top LS shops and spec their own cams I believe.

I don't see why he cant tow with that cam. It has excellent torque down low. I have to be careful when I'm taking off at stop lights to not spin even with 295 street tires, 3.42s and a 2.50 first gear. Its a great cam.
