Can you spin a 122 to fast

Was wondering if you can spin a 122 with the stock 1 to 1 pulleys on the back to fast and lose HP, Been told that is what I did but the one that sold it said that is just BS, I know what I think but just wanted to know from someone, The engine is built for boost

The faster a roots blower is spun, the more heat it produces. The small intercoolers crammed under the blowers dont do that great of a job to begin with, so thats the first big problem
The second is the inlet on various SC cases can only flow so much and after that point the flow becomes static while T increases quite rapidly. The cases are generally designed with a high upper limit than the majority of the customer base will EVER achieve, so this is pretty rare
Finally, the mechanical limits of the rotors can and sometimes are met, disastrously. The combination of thermal expansion in tight tolerances and centrifugal forces (to a lesser degree) will eventually cause the rotors to contact at high speed, usually locking them permanently. You will not like this
In almost all cases, the added air flow and extreme temperature are what get most engines overdriven a bit too far, both causing pre-ignition/detonation
For your kit, you'll probably burn up the belt before ever reaching the full potential of the SC, esp since you want to keep the 1:1 rear drive ratio forcing the front pulley to be tiny

Thanks for the info, I have tried different things and seems every thing I do I am stuck on 10 pounds of boost, Running the smallest pulley you can get, Added bigger rib pulleys, It has got a lot hotter than it use to, A friend said over drive the back and it would run cooler from more air? The tuner said I am spinning it to fast and losing hp and making more heat, The one that sold me the charger and works on them said BS and I need to over drive it

A little more information would help, engine displacement, etc, etc.

Yes I think the rear belt is slipping some, I have a LS6 with a stroker kit to 373 9.1 JR pistons. Total seal hand filed rings, Eagle H rods, Eagle stroker crank, Lingenfelter GT 2-2 cam, Dart 225 heads, T&D shaft mount rockers, dual racing springs, Chrome molly harden push rods, Racing oil pump, Lonnie's dual fuel pumps, 5/8 steel fuel lines, 60 pound injectors,90 mm TB and Lingenfelter 100 mm MAF metter, Razors alky injection, I know I left a few things out but you get the ideal and it is in a 4800 pound SSR

I'm surprised you're seeing 10psi on that rig. Best I could do with the motor in my sig was 9psi when the MP122 was on top. That was with a 2.6" snout pulley. It actually ran better with a 2.8" pulley at 8psi. Quite a bit cooler on the IAT's. IAT's were still high on a hot day, but not crazy (200F) high like the 2.6 would produce.

From his first post he has 1:1 rears so it should be front inlet jack shaft version which is what the ssr's use. I would say you have some major belt slip. What front pulley are you running? I'm assuming stock crank pulley?
