Can some one please help me with a fuel system? Turbo 5.3
#1
I have a 2000 Sierra 5.3
I just purchased a Turbo kit for my 5.3 Truck and have been asking Multiple questions about the trucks fuel systems and haven't had anyone write me back or tell me any real info.
Questions I have:
Is the truck drop in fuel body housing the same as a LS1 Camaro Trans AM? Meaning can I just buy a 340lph fuel pump for a 98-02 Camaro and it will be a direct fit in the truck in tank housing?
Does somebody make fuel pumps in-tank specifically for Trucks/SUV's drop in tank pumps 340lph+ ?
If not what is required to take a 340lph pump or 4xxlph and wire it in correctly or modify the stock housing to except it?
Is there a harness someone makes if the pumps are not direct plug and play wiring?
Thanks

It is not hard to wire in and fit one of the larger pumps. If you know how to use wire strippers you can do it, but I do recommend upgrading the wiring to the pump to 10 or 12ga.

Walbro 400/450 lis essentially a drop in replacement. Requires minor bucket modifications. You need a hotwire kit and in tank wiring harness, which racetronix sells. Also make sure you have the newer style flat 4 pin electrical bulkhead. The old square 4 pin connector isn't rated to handle the current that the big walbro can pull.
This setup on an otherwise stock fuel system with injectors is good for about 600 rwhp on E85 and probably around 800 on gas.
