Default can a 5.3 live with 10lbs of boost?

Doing some changes on my 5.3 (LT, yank 3000) so getting a retune anyway. Question: is 10lbs too much for the motor to live a long happy life and is the gains going to be noticeable if I do go to 10? Ed Wright does the tune so I trust they know what to do but.....

I was running 9-10 psi on my 5.3 without any issues. Just make sure your tune is good.

Here ya go, this was a thread not to long ago. There was a good amount of info on how much boost a stock engine's can take. Parish was pushing 20 #'s but he had meth and his timing set to match. Anyways, hope this helps.

I'm running 9-10psi right now in my daily driver... although I am kinda taking it easy right now because of the hot weather. I got greedy after thinking that only 5-6 psi would hold me over till the forged shortblock was done. A good tune and good fuel with enough pressure behind it and it will last awhile. Key thing is "awhile" is a relative word... kinda depends on how hard you are on the motor. When you start turning the screws in though thats when other **** starts to break as well...
