cam opinions with whipple 2.3, 221/225 .609/.612 112+4

the cam specs in my 4.8 with a whipple 2.3 kit are 221/225 .609/.612 112+4 . Dynoed at 460hp and 430 tq at the tires at 7.5 lbs max boost. Does anyone feel there is anything to be had with a wider lobe separation? the guy who did the work picked the cam, i talked to him about the lobe separation but he said this would work really well, which it seemed to, but im just wondering if something different would give a little better low to mid torque and make it feel actually faster for a daily driver? This is just me brainstorming. Im also considering going from a 4" pulley to a 3.625 pulley to bump max boost to around 10 to 10.5, which in some ways i wonder if a slight more overlap of the 112 will help relieve a little cylinder pressure and be of some safety benefit. any ideas?

If you are worried about safety benefit, why are you putting on a smaller pulley? You could get away with some more overlap, but there really isnt a need. I bet that cam drives just fine, no need to go with a huge cam with FI.

I'd bet that cam is actually beefy as hell on a 4.8.
If I was starting from scratch I'd like to see a tad more exhaust duration on that cam.
The same specs with a 229 exhaust lobe would do well as you increase the boost. The specs are close to what I have though and my truck performs just fine... itll scream. That blower is big enough that it could handle slight overlap on a 4.8 with ease. Widening it out would only make the mid range softer and give you more over rev.
That engine will take 10 LBS all day long and ask for more. The more you increase boost the harder it will hit off the bottom. Add Meth as you start to get over 10 PSI in any meaningful way and it will maintain its safety. I run 15PSI with a higher compression and it takes it no problem. You need to make sure your tune is safe though.

Truck sounds pretty lumpy. I just read everywhere that you want a wide lsa with forced induction, everyone seems to be running 114 or higher.. So i was just wondering if i would actually see any benefits. I do need to redo my exhaust though.. its got pace setting long tubes and ory, but its still a 2 into 1 with i think is a 3 inch mid pipe into a single 3 in dual 2.5 out magnaflow. and then the tips i had actually neck down to 2.25 i think. (truck is an rst, still using the square tips that came with it). Im trying to keep from having to run meth to. I dont race or even go the the track, Just pass people alot lol.

I get what you are saying about the 112 bleeding off a little cylinder pressure but I would keep it and add the boost as mentioned and I would do the meth too though. I think you'll be happy as that cam will have more low end which will be a benefit on the street.
