so back on the open and close of the BOV, mine is wide open at idle. It does work correctly as it opens and closes. I was not worried and figured it was normal until I read this. Maybe I need to change a spring? to keep it closed at idle but opens when I let off the gas with a higher vacuum?

Is air coming out of your BOV at idle? If so I wouldn't worry about it. If air is getting sucked in through the BOV at idle, like mine was, I would suggest a heavier spring.

My Tial would crack open at idle with the soft spring but with it being speed density I really didnt have an issue with it. As soon as it got any throttle it would close. I ran it like that for over two years and never had an issue. Like Atomic said I wouldnt go sit in a sand storm and let it idle but under normal conditions you arent going to have a problem.

2 port BOV, closed at idle without extra surge.

from JGS Turbo, how to keep the light spring but keep BOV closed at idle.
