You must be right,I have to be getting the term: waste gate and BOV confused. So I guess my procharger bypass is a BOV because it vents to the atmosphere.

It would screw me up for a lil while also, the waste gate is on usually always on the compressor side of a turbo, it does exatly what it is named for, when the spring is set to a desired psi it will open if it boosts anymore then that. I am glad we cleared that up LOL, now go get you a huge BOV...

You can only use a blow off on a Prochager it you relocate the MAF to a blow through and have the BO valve before the MAF. Stock the Prochager has the MAF before the blower and if you vent the BOV to atmosphere instead if recirculating it to preblower post MAF, then you are venting metered air to atmosphere instead of it going into the motor and it will run rich since its not getting the amount of air it thinks it is, since you dumped it out the BOV. Make since?

The waste gate on a turbo is controlled by boost pressure on the compressor side but it works by letting exhaust gas bypass the turbo side (either back into the exhaust downstream from the turbo or vented to the atmosphere). That is how the boost level is controlled, the exhaust bypasses the turbo and the compressor wheel slows down. You set it by the spring tension in the wastegate or a combination of the spring tension and a boost control set to your pre-selected boost level.

A blow off valve is operated by vacuum not boost and vents the intake air to the atmosphere before the MAF in most turbo systems. This keeps the pressure off the compressor wheel and throttle plate during shifts and other extreme changes in throttle opening.
