Bov OR boost leak???
#1
I just got off the phone with justin @ bbp and he was looking over my tune and asked if i had a leak after the maf...... the only thing after the maf is the bov on the 90 bend going into the throttle body....... i can't see if its staying open during idle or accceleration but i hear it open when i get off the gas. I guess my question is to those who run maf boosted set ups. Where is your blow off and how is you system set up?

No MAF anymore, but when I did have one, it was before the MAF sensor. I say leave the BOV where it is and ditch the MAF in favor of a 2bar SD tune.
Edit: What spring are you running the BOV, and how muc vacuum do you pull while idling, and cruising?

im not opposed to doing that if it can be done relatively easy! I have spent so much money getting some decent parts for it im spent out. Now i have finally got it running decent and was hoping to have a dependable daily i could drive from maine to cali! haha

i would check the gasket between your bov and piping. (if you have one and you didnt just weld it) or check the spring in your bov and make sure its ok and is working correctly. make sure the allen bolts are nice and tight. i have a tial 50 and it two loose allen bolts last week. i tightened them up and the truck feels like it got a 10-15 hp increase. (just my opinion)

The BOV shouldn't be after the MAF, it should be before. EVERY time it opens it's venting metered air, so the PCM will think the motor is using more air then it is making it run rich. BOV's on MAF equipped motors should be BEFORE the MAF sensor.

I couldn't tell but I'm assuming you are running a FMIC with Kyle's kit. I would think you could just swap that 90 w/the BOV and one of the two 90's before or after the FMIC.
