Default Boosting Advice GenV L86/LT1 in my truck

Hey guys!
I have a 15’ Silverado 1500 with an L86 in it. Running a 210/222 .550/.550 112LSA cam in it. AFM delete, LS7 lifters, LT2 intake manifold, headers, and a dual 3 inch exhaust system. Making about 455whp right now. I want to install a single turbo and run pretty relatively low boost. like 4-8psi because it’s my daily. i don’t need anything nuts, kind of doing it for the sound and some small gains. I do know these GenV 6.2 engines don’t like boost due to compression, tighter ring gaps, etc. so would running very low boost around 4-6psi be harmful to the motor? and if it’s fine, what systems are out there that are good for these K2XX trucks, or what brand of turbo should i be looking for. Thanks for the help!

4-6lbs will be fine for it. I have yet to run into a turbo kit that we like for these (that's not to say they are out there, just that many have cheap components and it'd be better to build your own kit). We usually go SC and use Magnacharger, the power/fitment is hard to beat.

Gotcha, which company do you usually like to buy turbos from? What size do you think would be optimal for my build, not looking to break the bank terribly but I don’t mind spending when its worth it. I’d love your advise man!

If you have to go turbo TrickTurbo offers a kit for LT engines but it says out of stock on his website so I am not too sure. Huron and SpeedEngineering offer one too I believe.

Seems he missed the part where Alvin recommended him to supercharge it. Turbos are for the track. Lol.

yeah i got that part, my best friend and i do a lot of fab work and want to try something different in fabbing a single turbo set up. so i was just looking for recommendations on turbos, wastegates, etc. and maybe if our mind changes i’ll just buy a supercharger for it, but i know many people with superchargers on these trucks and building a custom turbo system is something that sounds appealing to me and not done very often. i appreciate your input man
