What broke?

The rear itself will handle power you just need stronger parts in it. Like a real posi style unit and a good gear set. What you want and how you want to spend your money can determine what those parts can be.

I imagine the spider gears it will not move under power at all, it’s completely locked up (abs) light came on when she went. I have not pulled the cover off yet but will at some point this week. I’m looking for a (posi) what do you recommend? I am also considering either 4.10 or 4.56 gears. It had 3.73s from the factory

Look for a 14 bolt from a 6.2 SUV

14bolt is overkill.

jweb ran stock axles deep into 10’s with a posi unit/gears.

The 10bolt is fine like FFDP said you just need a good posi like a trutrac or Eaton.

Ok so say we go trutrac, what gears would you recommend. My son and I only take the truck out on Friday and Saturday nights and occasionally on the Sunday cruise.

i'll second the 14bolt, 10bolt with trutrac and gear may last but a tahoe probably has 1500lbs over a rcsb.

Depends on tire size and what kind of driving you do mostly hwy or city. Just did 4.10's from 3.42's on 29.7" tires and loving the difference. I do a mix of hwy/city and on the highway I'm glad I didn't go with the 4.30's. There are a number of gear calculators online, just remember to input the final tranmission overdrive ratio and tire height in the calculator. The final overdrive with a 4L60E is 0.70

No highway all city streets, Nitto s420 275/60/17s for tires.
Typically hard launches when I do get on it bouncing off the 2step.
