Talking Boost questions.

I currently have a Maggie tvs 1900. And I love the boost. And want to upgrade to the tvs 2300. And I want to forge the 6.0 or go with a 408. Which would be better for the blower.

I would do a forged 370, the blower will get you all the bottom end you need and in the long run I feel the 370 will be more reliable then a 408 if you are using a iron block.

What are your power goals ?

The 6.0 will be fine with the 1900 you have .

The 408 will need the 2300 for sure .

My stock long block LQ4 is making roughly 600 right now @12psi

I pullied down for 14-15 and added meth , I'm thinking I'll see 650+ after retune .

So what I'm saying is you can use what you have to get your goal and save money.

But if you need a rebuild then like pat said a forged 370 is the way to go , these LS engines like a shorter stroke and seem to last longer at closer to stock displacement.

BTW I'd love to have a 2300 but I'm making the most of my 1900 and it performs fine

I have the 2.80 pulley and in the 98 degree heat. Only seeing like 8-9 psi on 1st. 9-10 on 2nd gear.

You could always overdrive it also, as if you plan to push the forged motor you will want a OD 8 Rib setup anyway. Also plan to do a 4L80E if you have not already.

What cam are you running? Do you already have a overdriven crank pulley?

Have the built 65e. No over drive crank pulley. Yet. But I want more hp out of this. But I think the 1900 is well close to maxed out.

Do you have a cam or anything now? You should be making more boost then that with a 2.8 on a LQ9, and if you start cranking up the boost your 65 is not going to be happy.
