Default boost pressure went up!!??!!

so i got on it today and for one it sounds like there is a leak. i tightened all the clamps. i think maybe my bov is leaking. but more importantly my boost pressure went form 10 to 13 and my high boost went from 13 to 15/16psi. is it because its cold or what?

not sure if its a leak causing the noise or just the air filter caused by more boost pressure. but it has more wooshshshshshsh than whistle.i tried break stalling it with the hood open. the wife (stood beside not infront lol) said she couldn't hear anything over the filter noise .

not sure if it matters but its 29* and my afr did go up from normal 10.9-11.2 to 11.9-12.2 it hit twelve and i let right out. also my meth green (good pressure) light was on.

Look for damaged wastegate lines, i melted one once and had the same problem. As for the whooshing quite a bit is normal.

If you get water or condensation in your wastegate this over boosting can happen in any system. If the wastegate is properly positioned it doesn't happen to often but in STS's old system it was a major issue. Mine over boosted to 25+ psi more than once, engine got hurt and has never been the same.
be carefull!

I'll check lines again. just weird how both settings went up. I'll take a look tomorrow again to see what i can find. hmm i line with a small small leak i guess could raise pressure slightly in both settings huh. maybe i need to get better lines. mine are kinda flimsy. has anybody ever thought of getting some small brake line and a bender and making hard lines for this? seems it would prevent holes and burn through. i think i might do that.

It didn't matter, as soon as the temp dropped consistently below 28 degrees or soo it would freeze and over boost badly. I had it happen when it was close to 32 as well, the wind chill has an effect on it I believe, a moving vehicle with the wastegate under the truck in close to freezing temps will shed heat faster that the wastegate being under the hood where it actually gets warmer.
venting to atmosphere was STS's short term solution, then a new pipe came out to fix the issue. I got one, never put it on since I don't drive the truck much in winter anyways.

Blow your lines out with compressed air after you let it thaw out in a heated garage if possible. then check it here and there to see if condensation is building up. The rubber diaphragm on my TiAL actually was filled with ICE!! Crazy ****!

That is how i fixed mine, just ran the brake line till i was clear of any hot spots.

A supercharger is always turning the same speed at a certain engine rpm so colder, denser air will make more boost.
