I didn't use the bypass, just replaced the original. Takes a little longer to warm up but doesn't seem horrible, I'm just nice to the truck till its up to temp (which is hard because the cold air makes a ton of power)

I'm getting excited! 40K cooler showed up yesterday, Whipple delivers tomorrow. Cant wait to see the instructions & I'll decide if I do it in my driveway or schedule it with my mechanic buddy at his place. Hope I have time to get a before dyno although I'm not sure if it matters. Pretty much know what is normal for a 5.3 DI. 1/8 mile track times in a couple weeks. They run all winter around here.

New Era thread a couple years ago on a 2012 5.3 with the Whipple really responded well... he liked them better than the Mag. The basic Mag kit just doesn't offer that much hp as it comes, gotta pulley down retune and so on. The fact that Maggie only offered a tuner kit for the 2300 was the main reason I guess bc its my daily. And I just didn't want the 1900 because I plan to go to a 6.2 DI in the next couple years and it was ~ same price. I sure would've liked the extra low end torque though so it was a very hard decision but I did save hundreds on a "complete" kit that supposedly put out 450whp on the stock pulley...we'll see. No wrong decision here lol.

The place that is installing mine next month did the tuner kit (2300), their branded injectors, a Gen4 map sensor and then tuning.

Me being me, I've thought about adding a 2nd heat exchanger and pump. There is a low mount heat exchanger for the CTSV that looks like it would fit around the lower bumper area.

But I'm just toying with that idea right now.

Yours is gonna be a beast! I personally think the 2300 is a great choice and I'm still not sure why they only offered the 2900 on the later models. Not what I would've preferred. I'm reading through the manual now trying to comprehend all this crap...

Ted,

The larger displacement tops are interchangeable with the 2.3 lowers. I've got an email from Whipple on that.
