Default Boost increase tune changes?

I am running 5.5psi with my STS kit right now and I am wanting to step up to 7-8 pounds soon. I am new to tuning so I need help changing the tune that I have now to compensate for the extra boost. I do have a wideband and Efilive so I will be logging as I make changes but I don't know what exactly to change. Can I just adjust PE and pull out a little timing and go from there or do I need mess with my VE table for the extra boost?

On a seperate note. I am also going to swap in a Z06 cam soon and I was wondering if that completely changes your VE settings? I have been reading up on VE tuning but I don't completely understand when it's needed compared to adjusting PE. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a custom tune (2 or 3 bar)?

You will need to recheck the timing for sure. If you are on the 1 bar map still, you may need to richen up the top line of the VE table and will need to retune PE to keep your AFR lined up.

I am still on the 1 bar map. As long as I get my wideband be around 11.5 and drop my timing I should be safe right? I am seeing over 20 degrees of timing with the meth so I was thinking of dropping that back to about 14 and inching it up until I see knock and then backing it off a little. Will that work?

Yeah -- Like I said in the other thread, I'd strongly suggest zeroing out any adds to timing while you are tuning. Since you don't have a FMIC, dropping back to 13-14* is a good idea. After you hit your fueling, you walk up the max timing 2* until you hit a little bit of kr and then back off 1* to find your absolute max.

If your not getting the commanded fuel, you will need to up the top end of the MAF table as right now with just a 1 bar tune your tunning with it once you get into boost.

Thanks guys. I was really afraid of tuning when I first started reading up on it but now it doesn't seem to bad as long as you error on the side of caution.

What about the cam install? Will I have to completely redo my VE table?

z06 cam shouldn't be too bad on your tune. The lower map regions of the ve table, yes, more than likely will need some tweaking.
