Default Blowing off and still surging - BOV too small?

The new BOV that I installed seems to be very responsive, but even when it blows off the turbo still surges. Does that mean it's not big enough? Would running two BOV's solve the problem?

IMO your spring in the BOV might be set wrong. You are at a pretty good altitude, no? What's the spring in the BOV rated at?

The Synchronic is smaller in diameter but the quick discharges of pressure is faster than other aftermarket BOV with larger diameter. Running a 50mm diameter BOV that does not react quick enough equals of a small diameter bov. The Synapse BOV sometimes requires tweaking due to engine combination with different turbo set up. Minor tweaking will reslove this issue. The Synapse BOV has eliminate all surge for my truck set up reguardless what rpm or psi.

Instead of a BOV, run a bypass. They work better with street setups. When you have small enough turbos, they pass alot of air at idle and sometimes they provide more air than you can bypass with the BOV. This is how surge happens. So either slow down the turbines, or provide more airflow when the bypass opens. Should get you somewhere.

How do you know it surges? You feel it?

I feel it a little in the throttle peddle (a fast, pulsating feeling), but mostly you hear it.
