Well the motor went on thursday morning on the way to work.Shop says the #7 piston broke.They are pulling motor this coming week to see the extent of the damage.Now the big question is do I fix it or do I drop in a 6.0 any advice would be a great help.Truck is a 2005 crew cab 2wd 5.3 with STS was making 477hp and 493tq with 8psi.

i have a 6.0 and a 6.2 fs

 

I'd say go with a 6.0 and put the STS back on.

Where is the best place to get one and which one LQ4 or LQ9?

 

I would look on ebay, thats where alot of people including myself picked theirs up. I would go with the lq4 it is a lower comp motor and a lil bit more boost friendly. Also check in the classys here... You should be able to pick one up for cheap..

you first figure out why it broke...too lean prolly but why...tune...injectors...not enuff pump?

 

go with litreddevil's 6.2 and slap the STS on it again
