Default better IAT's slowing down coolant pump?

Been reading on chevy high performance that you can slow down the current on the coolant pump and get better IAT's. Anyone know how i can do that or how they did it?

This is the article i read

put a potentiometer on it and drop the voltage on it.

all you're doing is keeping the coolant in the heat exchanger longer.

That and less heat will be added to the water by the pump at a lower voltage, but I think that is pretty negligible. Most of the ford guys like to put huge pumps on their cars/trucks. Interesting gm guys want to go the other way.

In my experience with blowers, the pump and heat exchanger doesnt make any difference when you actually need it; while the throttle is down. All of their advantage is in recovery time, which you dont really care about unless you are road racing... The intercoolers on the popular blower kits are just too small due to the limited room.

To find out what is going on you could measure water temp before and after the heat exchanger and intercooler....
