Exclamation Best engine for ebay Roush Supercharger

I recently purchased the Roush supercharger kit from e-bay for the 2007 and up 5.3l. I have a '73 Datsun 240Z that I will be putting this thing in...but I havn't bought the engine yet. Should I buy an(Gen iv) '07 and up 5.3l or.......? What are the reasons this kit is specific to that engine? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! BTW I drive an '04 Denali this car is just for fun.

You can use this kit with any Cathedral LS head. I think the best option out there now might be the 6.0L (Don't know if that is the LQ4 or LQ9 or LY6) Someone will chime in.

The new 6.2L uses a rectangular intake runner and will not mate up with the Ebay kit.

The L33 with aluminum block was considered a HO engine...but they have been surpassed by the run of the mill 5.3s in newer vehicles. Only a few horsepower difference though.

Thanks for your input you guys. I DO want to stay aluminum (lh6/lc9) but what I was wondering is if the 5.3l is my best option. I know the 6.0 and 5.3 have different bore sizes. Would the 5.3 rev faster since the stroke is the same? This car only weighs 1900 lbs! The ly6 looks really attractive with variable valve timing but is it worth the money for this application?

the ly6 you speak of is iron block and l92 heads (rectangle port) which would not work with your supercharger. but yes they are dirt cheap!
