The tensioner location is the same, the one you are refering to is a adjustable idler.

Heh! She is either protesting or Sighing in relief.

On mine I had belt dust on the snout till I went to the Gates tensioner, and a new Gates belt. I run 3.4 & 3.5 pulleys.

Have a part # for the tensioner?

Might as well go with a better unit regardless if its slipping or not

I did a post on it back in 2009, see it HERE. The prices are different now and O'Reilly's auto parts are good about carrying Gates stuff and can search them by Gates P/N's. Here is GA anyways.

I'm with Leftcoast32. My naturally asperated 6.0 did this and was driving me nuts. We have a starter/ charging system rebuilder next door so I talked to him about the alt clutch pulley. He installed one for me on my alternator and the belt chirp is gone at WOT trans shifts. Honsetly I would try it the pulley was only 40 bucks and the builder installed it for me in like 5 minutes for the price of the pulley. Gm has used them on Corvettes for years and GTP Grand Prix's also.

I ended up popping that tensioner on, and it improved the noise a little bit. But as itwas stated, its not really belt slip, but more of a bit of belt noise from wot to nothing.

Had to trim about 2mm worth of metal off a 1 inch section of the tensioner for it to fit perfectly, but besides that it works great
