So how much boost do you think you will make?
If I can't get 9 lbs then I'll probably be looking at a TVS2300 down the road. In fact, I'll probably do that anyways if I run into some extra cash. Then I think 13 lbs should be possible. The engine will easily handle that with a good tune.

Got lots done today. I fixed the problem with the depth of the IW pulley. I had to impact it on to get the last 1/8th inch. I hope I never have to pull it!

I also changed the transmission cooler lines, dropped in the shortblock, (I need to return the hoist) and hooked up the A/C, PS, and all the ground wires and a few sensors. I'll tell you, going back together is a lot easier than taking it apart.

I'll find those valvespring seats this week and get the heads on so I can finish the engine. Then I can concentrate on the rest of the transmission. I'll be running the two wires to the PCM tomorrow as part of the 80E swap. The pin changes have been done on the main harness.

It's all going a little too easy. I'm getting nervous that something's gonna give me trouble soon.

You can't see much of anything down there with the fan shroud in the way. I am thinking of painting the water pump black though. I polished the top half of the alternator bracket tonight. Should clean it up some.

It's super easy dropping the engine in without the heads... tons of room. I love these engine mounts. They couldn't have designed them much better. They guide themselves together.

Dropin the short block is easy but its not as easy TQing the head bolts in the truck. No biggie though!

Congrats on your stuff coming together, you'll be so glad you did the 80 e swap now.

Better get a Tru Cool on there too while your at it.

Good luck getting the passenger head on with the shortblock in and studs. The only way you're going to do it is jack up the back of the trans and even then you most likely have to pull the back big stud and install it as you're dropping the head on.

I was just about to say the same thing... thats the reason I always drop the whole long block in when its studded... pretty much a PITA otherwise.

I don't have the tranny on so I can tilt the engine easily with the jack. The studs are only finger tight, too. Thanks for the tips, though. I needed to get the hoist back.

I went to the wreckers today and picked up the pins for the PCM and a plug for the VSS. The plug was wrong but I got the PCM wired up and the wires run to the back. I'm almost running out of things to do while I wait for parts. I ordered the HD2 shift kit today. Hopefully I won't need anything else besides driveshafts.
